Hong Kong’s Nature and Cultural Heritage

 
Introduction
 
Eco Race 2004 is a team challenge for people of all ages. Joining as teams of 3 or 4 members, participants are challenged to guess, locate and visit some pre-set ecological or cultural hotspots within a specific period of time. Participating teams can win more marks by designing optimum routes and choosing the most environmentally friendly mode of transport. It is a test of planning skills, teamwork and general knowledge related to nature conservation and cultural heritage.

The fund raised will be used for nature and cultural heritage conservation projects in Hong Kong. These projects are an integral part of our mission: to promote sustainable development and to enhance the quality of life for this and future generations.
 
Date : 21 November (Sunday)
Location: all over the territory, clues will be given on the event day
Entries: Limited to 500, and will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis

Eco Race Challenger — Designed for companies, organisations, government departments and members of the public who are prepared to face more challenges. The team that can reach the highest number of Ecological Hotspots in the shortest time by using the most environmental-friendly transportation will be the winner of the game.
Eco Race Education—This game is designed for teachers, students, and families. Through the game, participants will learn more about environmental and cultural heritage knowledge.
 
Cup Group Criteria Minimum Sponsorship
Eco Race Challenger Open A team of 4 individuals. All participants must be over 18 HK$2,000
  Company/ Organisation A team of 4 members of a company/ organization. All participants must be over 18 HK$5,000
Eco Race Education Family A team of 3 or 4 family members. One of the members must be over 18 HK$800
  Student A team of 4 members. One of the members must be over 18, while the remaining 3 members should be full time students. HK$800
 
An application fee of HK$50 will be required for each team upon application.
 
Sponsorship, Certificate & Prize
 
All teams must raise the minimum sponsorship. Any team or organisation which has raised over HK$8,000 will be acknowledged in the Acknowledgement Advertisement. Prize will be awarded to the highest fundraising team or organisation in each category. Each member will be awarded a travel bag donated by ExxonMobil Hong Kong Limited.
Participants who complete as a full team within a specific time and raised the minimum sponsorship will be awarded a certificate.
The Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up of each category will be awarded a trophy and Eco tour. The Champion team may be able to win Bushnell binoculars, Renaissance Harbour View Grade buffet coupon, Toronto Sports cash coupons, or other grand prize.
 
Enrollment details
 
1. Fill in the enrollment form and return it together with an enrollment fee of HK$50 (per team) in cheque or deposit slip by October 31:

For enrollment by fax or by internet, the enrollment fee, together with team leader’s name and contact phone no., must be sent to CA on or before the application deadline; otherwise, your team place may be taken up by another waiting list team.
 
2. Please pay the application fee of HK$50 per team in cheque payable to “The Conservancy Association” or by direct transfer to HSBC account: 600-605976-005. The application fee is non-refundable.

3. Enrollment confirmation, team number, event details, poster and sponsorship form will reach the team leader by November 10, Please call us if the team leader has not received the information by November 15.

The organizer will reserve the right to accept or reject any application.
